Anyone watching the Mundi Venatus (an international festival of sportsmanship being held this year in Brazil) will notice the glaring omission of Grigovian gymnasts. Long hailed as one of the best overall teams to grace the world stage in recent decades, athletes and parathletes representing the Glorious Republic of Grigovia are for the fifth time staging a boycott of this purportedly highest level of competition. Their reasons for staying away include America’s continued and illegal killing of innocent civilians using armed unmanned aerial systems as well as recent leaks that highlight the corruption and greed endemic within the event organizers’ highest ranks. “We would of course love to participate,” said 16 year-old balance-beam specialist Ghreiya Yastyend, “but in protest of longstanding, inhumane Ynki brutality against our Afghani neighbors, we shall not attend.” Speaking from the media center of the sprawling National Gymnastic Sports campus in suburban Grig, the nation’s capital, other members of the Grigovian team gave similar reasons for staying away. “We boycott the Mundi Venatus out of principle,” said Dr. Heira Glougagon, head trainer of the men’s team. “The committee that runs it is made up of individuals who care more about personal enrichment than human life, who are indifferent to the destruction and destitution some of the nations hosting their event inflict upon helpless populations.” Joining Grigovia in their boycott of the Ludi Mundi are the Principality of Liechtenstein, the Jewish Independent Oblast, and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

on May-Day 2012
Awaken, slumbering masses of the world, and unite as one! Today is our day, and this year is our year. Let us read the Communist Manifesto, and the Declaration of Independence, gaining from their few pages such common purpose as to unite us all. Let us fight, side by side, to secure the rights that we liberated and emancipated persons deserve equally. Let us combat corruption, avarice, sloth, and pride – first in our own lives, then in our families, communities, societies, and nations. Let us foster a spirit of cooperation, a zeal for self-sacrifice, a yearning for self-sufficiency, and a love for all things living and inert – first in our own lives, then in our families, communities, societies, and nations.
Together, friends, together we can beat back the rising tide of hatred and discontent that still threatens to swamp our hearts with fear; together, we can rid the world of the pettiness of conspicuous consumption, of the cruelty of wage-slavery, and of the fallacy of unchecked environmental degradation; together, we can truly make of many, one, of all the different peoples of this earth One People sharing equally – with full stomachs, clothed backs, and bright and shining smiles – of her lush and abundant gifts. So, on this perfect, sunny Spring day, let us fill our hearts with joy, basking in the glow of our growing righteous fury.

U.S. legislators stop accepting bribes
Following their ouster on National Public Radio (NPR), which did a segment last week called Forget Stocks Or Bonds, Invest In A Lobbyist (or, How Representatives Sell Out America), this nation's Congresswomen, Congressmen, and Senators have decided – unanimously – to stop being such money-grubbing, re-election-focused whores. Early last Friday morning, in the Capitol rotunda in Washington, D.C., all members of the House and Senate gathered to declare, in unison, “We have seen the error of our ways. We understand that this type of behavior ruins our fledgling democracy, that it tramples upon the voices of those citizens who cannot constantly contribute to our re-election campaigns, and that it destroys everything Americans have fought for, and died for, since the early days of this republic.”
The legislators, who until now had not even tried to hide the fact that they were selling their souls, their voices, and their access to – and influence over – the legislative process to anyone capable of physically handing them a check upwards of thirty-five thousand dollars ($35,000), wept with shame. “We are heartless bastards who have lost sight of our purpose,” said Speaker John Boehner. “Our real job is to speak to the people of our districts directly and to figure out what it is that they need; our job is not to sit around in tax-payer-funded offices and to hold court to see how many checks we can collect in a single day, nor is it to champion legislation such as that favorable merely to big business, to big corporations, our to our most frequent individual cash donors.”
To the amazement of the staff here at Mentiri Factorem Truth-Seeking & Truth-Speaking, it is not illegal for an elected official to sell his or her influence outright, nor do such despicable acts of flagrant corruption legally violate the standards of decency, the rules of common sense, the parameters of the Constitution, or the essence of the Declaration of Independence. Said D.C. occupier Herrold K. Chesterfeld, a computer programmer from a state on the Eastern seaboard, whose job was sold last year to an overseas conglomerate that had paid the Senator from his state a lot of cash-money to sanction the sale, “My great-great-great-great-great grandfather did not die during the Siege of Boston so that some pompous, millionaire official could pad his re-election coffers by selling my job to a group of rich scumbags in South Asia. Legislators are supposed to represent the interests of the individual citizen, individually, but when they cow-tow to persons or corporations that have heaps of money to burn, they prove that they are no better than slaves or truck-stop knob-slobbers. We need jobs in my state, we need health-care, we need reasonably-priced, high-quality, American-made food, shelter, and clothing – this circus, this fiasco, has gone on for long enough.”

rain, devil's rain
Harvest Hope & Healing House (HH&HH) megachurch founder and head pastor Langdon Tinngle-Brace declared this morning from his perch high atop a glass-walled pulpit inlaid with gold and ivory that the faithful should avoid rain if at all possible, it being, “The work of the devil himself.” At the conclusion of his forty-minute sermon on the subject (during which two parishoners gave birth and one septuagenarian died), the Right Honorable Mister Tinngle-Brace, who answers only to his full title, said, “God's tears? Rain is not god's tears, nor is it Jesus' tears, nor is it the tears of those cute little baby angel cherubs that weep when they look down upon us and our sinful ways. No. No! You fine people out there staring up at me like good Christians, No! you avoid that rain; you run at the slightest sprinkle; you cover your head and cower in fear of the first sign of a debilitating and dastardly downpour. The devil is in them clouds, he makes the rain fall. It is the devil's very piddle that lies in puddles on our fine roads and that soaks and slithers its way into our bright and tender hearts.” Mr. Tinngle-Brace, being far too corpulent to walk and, besides, having worked himself into quite a lather, was hoisted from the pulpit by means of his personal Gilded Forklift of Heavenly Ascendancy.
Ushers were standing by as the service ended to hand out brochures for – and to funnel churchgoers into – an on-site information seminar about HH&HH's newest RV-park and retirement community in Roswell, New Mexico, where, according to the high-gloss, parchment-like pamphlets, the rains never fall.

right to pass revoked in LA
Following
approval from the city council issued at its emergency sitting late
last night, property owners across Los Angeles revoked unilaterally
the rights of pedestrians to use private property, including
privately owned sidewalks. This move has been expected for months,
since LA's city council long ago abandoned her pedestrian population,
preferring rather to kowtow to rich property owners who because of
their great wealth can have laws written in their favor by bribing
and influencing elected leaders.
Attention
pedestrians of southern California: you may not use a privately owned
sidewalk unless you have on your person written permission from the
property owner! Instead, use the street, the roadway, or any publicly
owned sidewalk (which are stamped with City Of Los Angeles, whereas
private sidewalks are embedded with polished bronze medallions that
warn walkers to turn back). The Los Angeles Police Department is
issuing tickets upwards of $1000 to any individual caught using or
otherwise trespassing on a privately owned sidewalk.
“Anyone
not driving a car by now is just not worth our time, nor are they
worth any effort,” LA councilman Hinnrich Rheingoldt was overheard
saying just after the sitting ended. “We just don't have time to
protect economically insignificant, litigation-shy, foot-mobile
fuckheads who aren't buying us flights to Mammoth, or who haven't
contributed to any of our political action committees.”

declaration of corporate supremacy
When
in the course of pursuing Profits it becomes necessary to formulate
the rules by which the people shall live, and to remind them for whom
it is they toil, We, the assembled Capitalists and Corporations
headquartered in but not paying taxes to these united states of
America, ignoring of the opinions of mankind, declare that the
economic well-being of our Executive Boards and Voting Members by far
outweighs the people's constitutional right to safety and happiness.
The original declaration of independence, that document upon which
the united states was founded, those words that failed to grant
mankind the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness,
that scroll is a dead and worthless document – its declaration of
unalienable rights is null and void, and its ability to define the
role of government as the sole agent charged with making the American
people safe and happy was long ago buried under heaping shit-piles of
our Avarice
and Greed.
We
enforce through police action the following Truths: that a few
hundred thousand Americans shall receive the most of the profits
generated by all of the other Americans working hard every day; that
We have the right to speculate with and to put at risk of loss the
monies entrusted to us by the people, and that We shall be safe
behind our high walls when our speculations fail and millions lose
their hard-won gains, our ill-begotten riches guaranteed and
protected for us by the federal government; that our risky businesses
shall in cases of bankruptcy and financial failure receive unlimited
financial bailouts from the federal government; that We shall profit
from the sale of drugs such as alcohol and tobacco that are legally
available to the people, drugs that kill them by the hundreds of
thousands and that maim them by the millions.
Additionally,
We hold: that imprisoning individuals in for-profit prisons that We
own and run for the crime of consuming drugs other than those that we
sell is proper government practice; that the federal government
should wage endless war against unseen foes (see the war
on terror) in order for us to manufacture, develop, and sell
it arms and weaponry, even though We know that the only sure way to
win these wars would be to force everyone on Earth into concentration
camps and to forcibly lobotomized them there; that We shall through
unscrupulous and otherwise fraudulent advertising convince the people
that unbridled consumerism and unchecked personal debt are the
bedrock of the American dream, and that Happiness does not grow from
within or that it is not a fragile state of mind that blossoms from
patience and self-understanding but that it is something you cram
into your wallet or pocket-book, something that you spend in our
shopping plazas, something that you spend on useless items that are
little more than clutter.
Furthermore,
We declare: that it was our patriotic duty to abandon the American
manufacturing sector in favor of foreign shores, and that We served
the motherland well by sacrificing the jobs of millions of our
countrymen to boost our Profit-Margins; that We shall force children
to work as slave-laborers in free-economic-zones located around the
globe; that We have bestowed upon the unemployed American citizen the
privilege of buying cheap goods that break soon after they are first
used; that We have the Right, regardless of the complaints of
tree-hugging hippies, to rape and to destroy the land for short-term
gain, to poison the streams with runoff from our mines, to clear-cut
the once-great forests for export, and to pump the animals We sell
you as food full of steroids and antibiotics rather than to provide
them with clean and open places in which to live out their short and
pathetic lives; that We have willingly and to vast personal profit
rejuvenated the methods of the ancient Romans for controlling the
lower classes by providing them with bread (fast food) and circuses
(television), methods that keep the human rabble blessedly quiet and
contented throughout its pitiful and mostly worthless lives; that We
shall run our corporate societies not as democracies but as
totalitarian fiefs while convincing our workers that through hard and
dedicated labor they might reach the highest rungs of our bogus
organizations, while, in reality, they shall, after infighting,
backstabbing, and reckless self-promotion, find themselves flung out
into the cold, the pathways to our fleeting and hollow ranks closed
to all but a most rapacious and lustful Few.
At
no point in the long yet subtle process of making a mockery of this
once great nation did We pause to consider that by appropriating this
nation's wealth we would violate the Constitutional directive of
promoting the general Welfare, although, by funneling the collective
wealth of all Americans into the pockets of our cronies and fellow
oligarchs, We shall secure the Blessings of Liberty to Ourselves and
to Our Posterity, not to all Americans equally, but to those who
have, as we have, dutifully sacrificed their sacred Honor on the
altar of the Insatiable Hag of Materialism, to those who have shat,
as we have shat, upon the once-grand notion of Liberty and Justice
for All. We have stopped our ears to the Voice of Justice, preferring
rather the comforting Shriek of Lies. We rejoice in the violation of
the flimsy protections once but no longer afforded the America people
by the Constitution.
All
this We pledge, and more: We have the means to lobby the Legislature
for our own gain; We have the money with which to live comfortably
for ten lifetimes even though millions of American children go to bed
hungry each night; We have convinced the people that consumption is
preferable to ingenuity, that watching TV is preferable to creative
expression or the telling of stories, and that the formula for happiness starts with a dollar sign and ends in a decimal point. We,
therefore, the capitalists and corporations headquartered
symbolically in these united states, Assembled, appealing to none but
our Majority Share-holders, by our own authority and the might of our
wrongly appropriated wealth, brazenly Publish and Declare, that this
Country belongs to Us now, that the dream of a more perfect Union has
no place in the world of top-few-capitalism, that 99% of all
Americans shall toil ceaselessly to make us, those of the remaining
One Percent, rich beyond reckoning, that government is instituted not
to secure the Rights of the people but to satisfy the whims of the
Few, and that the people may neither alter nor abolish the system of
federal government that long ago forsook and abandoned them in order
to satisfy the needs of its wealthiest few subjects, and that it is
too late to change things now, because the people waited too long to
act out against our blatant and flagrant transgressions.
So
suck it, you hard-working American fools, and while you are sucking
it good and hard, remember that you long ago gave up those
inalienable rights that your ancestors fought
and died to secure for you.

read this, smokers of tobacco
Additional
cigarette-smoking permits available – act now, limited numbers
available. The California Department for the Restriction of Freedom
(CDRF) has printed additional permits for persons seeking to smoke
tobacco in public. It is illegal to simply light up, and citizens
interested in sparking that cancer-stick on the street are advised to
initiate the proper paperwork necessary to start the arduous process
of obtaining one of these permits.
In a
press release issued today the CDRF stated that it restricts the
liberty of the tobacco-smoking population in this fashion in hopes of
silencing complaints from marijuana smokers, those violent and
vociferous vagrants who grovel gladly before the CDRF for permission
to pursue their Happiness. To insure the domesticTranquility and to
secure the Blessings of Liberty
to all citizens equally, smokers of any type of tobacco
must henceforth obtain permits before they shall be allowed to smoke
in public their preferred substance.
The
elected leaders of the State of California and the appointed heads of
the Department for the Restriction of Freedom began using the permit
system when they discovered they could deliver vast profits to their
prison-owning cronies by outlawing the use of addictive substances
other than those sold or regulated by the State itself (prescription
medication, alcohol, sugar). In addition to printing this batch of
new tobacco-smoking permits, the CDRF is accepting applications from
individuals seeking to drink coffee in public, from people wishing to
gain or to lose body-weight, to cut their own hair, or to prepare
their own food, and from citizens seeking to possess and to read
books. Act now – limited numbers available.

counterweight Constitution
Citizens of America: the Constitution of these States is a covenant we all share equally. Simply by being citizens of this land, we give our tacit consent to the opening declaration of this covenant, wherein it is declared that we are one People, a People with the common goal of making for ourselves a more perfect government. Among the established parameters of this goal are Union, Justice, Domestic Tranquility, Common Defense, general Welfare, and Blessings of Liberty, goals that must, by any reckoning, be the counterweight against which all legislation and other national decisions are measured.
The XIV Amendment to the Constitution guarantees the People life, liberty, and property until they shall be taken from them under due process of law. Blanket prohibitions that restrict individuals in their liberty, foremost among them laws that prohibit the People from possessing and consuming Mood Altering Substances, restrict the individual in her liberty by prohibiting her from utilizing methods by which to pursue her Happiness; they violate her right to dispose of her ultimate property, her body, as she as a consenting and capable adult should decides is in her best interest. Therefore, the Controlled Substances Act is unconstitutional, as it infringes upon the individual's constitutional rights to her liberty and to her body even when she has in no way indicated a desire or willingness to do harm to the property of bodies of other people. It is already permitted for the People to dispose of their property in most any other way, by tattoo or surgery or haircut, by consuming of certain Mood Altering Substances (MAS) such as coffee and sugar and alcohol and tobacco, by entertaining in the mind any number of opinions on religion or morality or social equality, all activities or states of mind that are universally recognized as components of liberty. It would be unthinkable for the government of the United States to pass laws specifying by which methods the People would be able to wash or mend property such as socks; it is just as unthinkable that our government specifies the methods by which we affect our only true property, our bodies, by its enforcement of blanket prohibitions on the consumption of specific MAS other than those socially-accepted ones listed above.
Laws banning the possession and consumption of specific MAS do not insure the Domestic Tranquility requirement set forth in our Constitution, as they do not outlaw the use of alcohol, a substance that in its use is responsible for countless acts of insurrection and aggression, a substance that in its use degrades the general Welfare by enraging its user and reducing his ability to make reasonable judgments, a substance that in its use violates the individual's liberty by often ensnaring her in its addiction and all but forcing her to feed the sickness she has unwittingly brought into her life. Overuse of substances, addictions to substances, especially substances such as tobacco that in its use degrades the general Welfare by ruining the health of the People and leading to their premature demise, addictions are conditions that must be addressed with a logical and compassionate eye, so that the individual can regain the capacity to use those MAS that he decides he needs to facilitate or enhance his pursuit of Happiness instead of being relegated to a prison cell and treated as a criminal for his inability to control his appetites.
Punishments for consumption of illicit MAS cannot be applied to great swaths of the population for infractions that in no way cause direct and measurable offense to the life, liberty, or property of any other person. Just as a lengthy process is required to deprive a person of Life and to condemn her to death, the removal of liberty can be meted out only on an individual basis by an august panel that shall decide that the person in question should no longer deserve specific and enumerated liberties (the penalty for the continued execution of these liberties being tailored so as to maintain the parameters of the Constitution), thus ensuring that her constitutional right to freedom of action and thought is not taken from her without profound and rational deliberation.
A person is not sentenced to death for anything less than infringing upon or extinguishing the Life of another person. Therefore, a person cannot have his Liberty revoked unless he has infringed demonstrably upon the right of other people to their Lives, Liberty, or Property, or if he has clearly violated the parameters of the constitution. The incarceration of non-violent drug offenders whose sole purported violation was to consume or possess MAS degrades the general Welfare and the Domestic Tranquility by removing those individuals from their long-established familial and community ties, by restricting them in their ability to work and to be productive, by holding them in close proximity to violent and dangerous criminals.
A woman seeking to abort an unwanted fetus has the constitutional right to do so. Under the XIV Amendment, she has the right to decide for herself what to do with her body, her only true property, so she may pierce or tattoo it as she sees fit, cut its hair in whatever fashion she desires, eat and let it become fat or exercise and keep it in shape, have her stomach stapled and her organs and cancerous tumors removed, and abort any fetus growing within her female parts. Furthermore, as the Blessings of Liberty have been bestowed upon her, she may decide for herself how best to lead her life; she is allowed to do anything to herself so long as she is not infringing upon the constitutional rights of any other persons (a fetus is a part of a woman's body until it is born, at which point it becomes a baby, or a tiny little person with constitutional rights).
The requirements of a more perfect Union and the provision for the general Welfare are not being met under our current system of top-few capitalism, under which a minority of the People is compensated in the form of great wealth for the labors of the majority of the People. Allowing the wealthiest few Americans to amass such great wealth gives them the power of the purse strings, which breeds corruption and makes these few rich folks so essential to the reelection of political figures that they become the masters of said political figures, dictating, formulating, and influencing legislation to their own benefit at the expense of the vast majority of the population. To provide for our future Prosperity and to redirect the wealth of this nation toward realizing the Welfare of the People generally, it behooves us to alter the fabric of our corporatized and corrupted society, and to seek new methods by which to assure that all Americans might benefit equally of the bounty inherent to this land that is daily brought forth by the People of this nation.
Great bodies of men and women have joined the U. S. armed forces to provide for the Common Defense, and vast stockpiles of personal weapons and other mechanical contrivances stand at the ready to assist them in this task. To provide for the Common Defense, however, we must keep these forces at home, on true American soil, so that, if needed, they can defend the American People from threats here at home; we cannot continue to launch wars of aggression, as we did in Iraq in 2003, to protect or to promote the business interests of a tiny fraction of the population that has a corporate or otherwise monetary interest in the oil fields located in that Middle Eastern nation. There is a role for American armed forces to play beyond our shores (humanitarian aide, protecting innocents, punishing those who seek to destroy us), but it cannot ever again be a war of aggression against another sovereign nation. Many good Americans have died, and much of our nation's wealth has been wasted by intervening in conflicts not our own, in nations not our own, against people who just want to see us leave. Let the chips fall where they may, unless they are huge chip-shaped bombs raining down onto our cities.
Until it comes to pass that all political and government efforts are focused solely on meeting the requirements set forth in the Constitution, and until such time as the rights enumerated in the Constitution are granted to all People fully and without prejudice, the fundamental American documents are protecting only those people who are rich in monetary wealth and political connections; they have ceased to be documents that serve for the elevation of the People generally, and have been high-jacked by an oligarchy that has lost sight of the deep and enduring essence of the American Dream, i.e. Safety, Happiness, and the Blessings of Liberty.
p.s. This is a general appeal to all police officers in America: If you have ever even attempted to trick or browbeat someone into forfeiting their Constitutional rights, or if you operate in a fashion that in any way even attempts to sidestep said rights, and if you have ever sworn an oath to uphold and protect the Constitution of the United States of America, take a good look in the mirror, and consider that you very well may have violated your oath. If so, relinquish your post immediately, and pursue a different career.

on rational egoism
Much has been ado of late about the theory of rational egoism championed by Ayn Rand. Politicians have taken up the call, among them Rand Paul, stating clearly their opinions of the Lumpenproletariat, i.e. the growing segment of the American population that has little or no capital; the poor. According to the theory of rational egoism, the poor and the destitute are parasites on society, while the rich are the wise and money-generating hosts on whom these parasites prey.
A small number of people in America have been allowed to amass large amounts of money and property, either by individual effort or through inheritance. Such vast quantities of capital are not necessary to house and to feed and to clothe the families and dependents of this tiny, monied elite. To protect their vast holdings, the monied elite has corrupted our elected officials, using the power inherent to capital to craft legislation favorable to them and theirs, thus becoming a plutocracy. To protect its vast holdings, this plutocracy has convinced the American people, using ingenious methods of propaganda, that the essence of the American Dream is to have capital, to be rich, to claw one's way at all cost into the closed ranks of the plutocracy, when these vast quantities of capital can only be brought into being by the united actions of all members of society, by the combined efforts of all people who labor in America.
The Constitution of the United States of America does not establish a capitalistic system in this country. It does not anywhere mandate that a few hundred families are to receive the fruits of the labor of tens of millions of American citizens. Instead, it states that this country is established to promote the general Welfare, to insure domestic Tranquility, and to secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and to our Posterity. When the capital that is brought into being by millions of laboring citizens is funneled into the pockets of a few dozen, when whole populations are left to fend for themselves, denied quality schooling and medical care, when millions of Americans pass on to their Posterity not Liberty but enslavement to the ceaseless demands and empty joys of materialism, we can no longer honestly call ourselves the Children of the Constitutional Convention.
America has abandoned the principles set forth in the Constitution. Instead of employing the enormous amount of capital created here every day in the interest of all citizens equally, instead of providing each American woman, child, and man with the basic tools (i.e. food, clothing, shelter) necessary to even consider a method for obtaining Happiness, instead of ensuring that we are and shall always be able to pursue: "Our own good in our own way, so long as we do not attempt to deprive others of theirs or impede their efforts to obtain it" (J.S. Mill, On Liberty), instead we have allowed a small, selfish group to highjack our most fundamental principles and to convince us that money - dirty, ever-corrupting money - is a more important component of our lives than unadulterated Happiness.
There is a storm coming. We have allowed those at the bottom (the poor) to go hungry for too long, and to grow too envious of those at the top (the rich). We have allowed the rich and the well-connected to escape Justice through presidential pardon and access to prohibitively expensive legal representation. We mock the concept of Welfare; we have reduced it to a pitiful and deplorable concept few self-respecting people care to support. Once the great swelling masses of the poor come to look past the smokescreen of propaganda, our domestic Tranquility will be shattered.
The Randian notion of rational egoism only serves to further obfuscate the true, founding principles of this country - that all Americans are created equal, and that they all have the Right to an equal share of the capital that exists and that is created in this country. We spend billions of dollars preparing for potential future conflicts against foes that do not exist, yet we reduce funding to our educational system, thus ensuring the perpetual mediocrity and persistent under-achievement of our nation's youth. We cut the rates at which the plutocracy is taxed while it wallows in more money that it could possibly need to live comfortably. We hear a president call shopping our patriotic duty, and, instead of denouncing roundly this farce, we dutifully max out our credit cards.
It is easy to blame the politicians for these failures, while We the People alone are solely to blame. We hear from our politicians that the richest few among us should not shoulder their portion of the national burden, and we accept this meekly and without complaint. We listen quietly as powerful forces attempt to elevate one religion (Christianity) over all others, and accept this brazen assault on the concept of religious freedom as inevitable and just.
We, the People, are failing.
We, the People, are watching with disinterest as the forces that guide this country are corrupted and bent to the will of those who have most benefited from our decline into capitalism.
We, the People, cannot afford to allow the greed inherent to rational egoism to further erode our Right to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. We must stand tall, and we must fight.
Otherwise, we will have sacrificed Lady Liberty to the god of Greed on the altar of Consumerism.
This aggression will not stand.
Ultima Ratio Regum,
John Paul Roggenkamp
