Its first rays break through
Basting the low clouds in gold
What a grand sunrise

Linked to gold, buried in code
Real worth, not fiat

glowing golden-white

This morning, I had a dream within a dream. In the first dream, I was meditating within a massively small white space, my seven spinal chakras showing. They had black rims that contained their appropriate colors and Sanskrit symbols. A potent and well-defined figure hovered in the aether above my head, his gaze mellow, wide-reaching, and fixed elsewhere. As I focused more clearly on this figure, I saw he was wearing dark blue clothing (made of a shiny substance similar to leather) and a wide-brimmed hat.

Sensing perhaps my attention, he looked at me; I shrunk from the strength of his piercing eyes. His presence and power brought fear welling up inside me, whereupon I awoke from that deeper dream into a different one.

Sitting with me atop a unknowably large blanket of clouds under an azure sky, on my left-hand side, was a woman glowing golden-white. My fear of the previous visitor instantly vanished. I felt comfortable and at ease in the woman’s presence, as if she were my mother. At her 10th chakra pulsed a burning heart of pure gold from which slender, halcyon tendrils of loving energy flowed. Although I was enveloped within it, the bulk of her vast and immutable power was not fully directed at me, most of it flowing outward into the howling white non-space behind her.

She spoke to me, saying this about the hovering figure: “He is the devil.” My remaining sense-memory of him from the previous dream changed, his clothes turning red, his face becoming bearded and twisted into an angry rictus. He suddenly bore down upon me from on high, at which point I started to defend him, telling the glowing woman that he was not the devil but something else, a powerful figment perhaps. The landscape began to move quickly, a great rush of movement that overwhelmed my ability to keep track of my sense of self in space and time.

Whereupon I returned to the waking world of human consciousness.

currency recoupled

Acting in the knowledge that currencies not pegged to physical media tend to be unstable and inflationary, the Glorious Republic of Grigovia started the process of coupling the yind to valuable and useful metals such as copper, platinum, and titanium. “During the Soviet occupation of our country from 1953 to 1988 our currency was enslaved to Russia's ruble,“ said Ridtgarst Youlendt, spokesman for the Grigovian Mint. “And from 1990 until 2002 the yind was tied to the United States Dollar. Since 2002 it has been pegged to the Euro, but in a referendum the Grigovian citizenry cried foul of this arrangement.” The recent discovery – in old 18th century iron mines located in the north-eastern Yiptlong massif – of large reserves of platinum and titanium led the Grigovian people to call for greater independence from foreign powers in things monetary and military. “Just this year we destroyed attempts by the Rothschilds to take over the Grigovian Central Bank, and we are actively thwarting efforts by the United States of America to overthrow our own democratically elected government,” said Dr. Eleinah Turyendt, state secretary of finance. “With wise and patient measures we are confident in our abilities to hammer out the details of returning to the gold standard.” The change should be completed by November 20th, Grigovia's second official national independence holiday during which it commemorates its self-liberation from Persian rule in 250 B.C.E. Liberty shines anew

Under the vigilant eye of the country's leading metallurgic and molecular chemists, and funded primarily by generous financial contributions from average Grigovian citizens, a small army of technicians has started to apply layers of non-toxic chemicals to the exterior of Liberty Enlightening the World. The American government had sold her to Grigovia after de-funding its Park Service, and since then the statue has been carefully resurrected on Free Spit (formerly Mad Spit, for the insane asylum once located there), an island that rises from the Yalung River in the heart of cosmopolitan Grig. “All we need now is a good hard rain,” said Dr. Fiyennd Gharszt, who designed the witch's brew being applied to Liberty's copper panels. Once activated by water, the chemicals will turn her golden once more, a flashing shining goddess for all the world to see. “The water-activated compounds bind to any piece of oxidized copper, loosening it from the substrate at the molecular level and allowing it to run down the supple folds of our lady's flowing robes, where it will collect in catchment basins at her feet,” said Eleinna Hyourst-Rahdt, a former molecular biologist and current volunteer who manages a portion of the donated funds. While it is inevitable that some of the runoff will enter the sparkling Yalung River, Dr. Gharszt was adamant that it posed a threat to neither flora nor fauna and that it would in no way negatively impact farms or wildlife downstream. “We have been testing these compounds for months,” he said, “and in every scenario, the bits of oxidized copper separated from the molecules to which they were bound shortly after the bonding took place, whereupon they settled to the ground and were absorbed into the sediment without a noticeable impact on river grass or fishes. As it meanders through the moraine field north of Grig the Yalung naturally picks up its of tin, gold, and copper; our meager contribution will hardly matter.” Renovations to Liberty Enlightening the World are scheduled to be completed in time for the second the Glorious Republic of Grigovia's yearly independence ceremonies, on November 20th, during which it commemorates its self-liberation from Persian rule in 250 B.C.

Grigovia remains unaffiliated

As its former Warsaw Pact allies either line up to join NATO, bow to the demands of American military-logistics planners, or grovel at the doorstep to the European Union, the Glorious Republic of Grigovia (GROG) has managed to go it (mostly) alone. While still technically a member of the United Nations, GROG has boycotted the General Assembly ever since 2002, when the United States of America launched an illegal war of aggression against Iraq, a Central Asian country rich in natural resources. Bursting with rare earth metals and home to vast stretches of endangered cold-weather rain forest untouched by ax or saw, Grigovia has safeguarded its independence, its natural resources, and the dignity of its human population by fighting off all efforts to incorporate it into international bodies or alliances. Said Hennu Yiptlend, GROG's Secretary of the Interior, Natural Resources: “We have watched as our neighbors in Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan caved to the murderous and incessant Yankees, sacrificing freedom, airspace, and honor at the altar of conspicuous consumerism and standing by helplessly as their countries became infested with fast-food restaurants and television advertising. The people of Grigovia were asked in a referendum if they wished to support the American invasion of neighboring sovereign lands, and if they wanted to join the E.U., and maybe the IMF, and 98% of the people answered with a resounding NO. Various international election-monitoring agencies tallied the results of the referendum, verifying our initial counts.”

Founded in 1904 as a parliamentary republic by King Hyu-Yennd Yündlennd, who abdicated shortly thereafter, Grigovia quickly became known throughout the world as a free and unaffiliated state similar to Switzerland. Whereas Switzerland became rich by stashing gold for the Nazis, gold that they had looted from the corpses of millions of innocents and non-combatants, Grigovia did not. Leading a quiet existence and laying low for the first few decades of the 20th century, GROG was one of the only nations to refuse Nazi gold as well as being among the first to grant women's suffrage and to outlaw the discrimination of persons based on skin tone, nation of origin, height, weight, sex, hair-style, health, wealth, beauty, and joi-de-vivre. Known for its liberal banking policies, raucous night-life, and refusal to sign any and all extradition treaties, Grigovia remained free until the ascendancy of the Soviet Union, which incorporated it into the Union of Soviet Socialists Republics (CCCP), ending its sovereignty and forcing it to adopt central-planning policies designed to enslave it to Moscow's corrupted will and to crush the spirit of its people.

That spirit simmered quietly until 1956, when, in lockstep with the Hungarian Freedom Movement, Grigovians rose up, unarmed civilians swarming Soviet tanks and dying in droves trying to re-take the high mountain passes. The Grigovian spirit kept simmering until 1989, when, in lockstep with the Polish Solidarity Movement, Grigovians erupted in violent protest, throwing off the last, dying vestiges of the Soviet Union and liberating themselves in just a few short days. Old habits die hard in this fierce little country, however, where communal gardens, public transportation, and neighborly helpfulness are still considered vital to a peaceful, healthy, and happy society. “Who needs fancy foreign taskmasters when we ourselves are free?” asked thirty-four year old Ninna Chueryennd, avid gardener, bicyclist, social activist, and lifelong inhabitant of Grig. “I was on the front lines when we threw off the mantle of Soviet oppression, and I shall die before I let this nation enslave itself to the theory of capitalism for the sake of conspicuous-consumption.”

goddess alights

Without much fanfare – that is, without her usual plumes of smoke, claps of thunder, or bolts of blindingly-white light – goddess Athena alighted in the middle of an otherwise nondescript little town in the Mid-Atlantic region of a republic known as America. After having a bit of a look around and finding no structures or activities worthy of her attention, the goddess, cloaked as she was in the guise of a world-weary old man, attempted to purchase something to drink from a store with a red-and-green-striped sign.

The store's clerk, being broke and hung-over from staging his best friend's bachelor party, and not knowing how to make change for the thick disc of gold the hirsute and oddly-redolent old bum had given him, asked the man to leave. When the elderly transient requested that the coin be returned to him, the clerk palmed and pocketed it, handing over a single Sacajawea dollar coin, instead. Pallas Athena, she who blesses the labors of artist and warrior alike, feeling spited and anything but well-received, refused to leave the store, and demanded the return of the solid gold doubloon. Soon enough, the police arrived, having been summoned when the clerk depressed a button by his foot, but, before they could get around to arresting the strange old man, he somehow managed to escape into the store's cramped rear storage-quarters, from which, however, no door leads to the outside.

Brave and majestic goddess Athena, having made herself fully invisible so as to escape the clutches of what she could tell were bad people bent on doing her harm, mulled for a moment using the Gorgon's head on her Aegis breastplate to turn them all to stone, deciding at the last minute, however, simply to erase the police officer's memories, and to curse the clerk to a pitiful life of abject wage-slavery devoid of any and all pleasure, in which direction she figured he was heading, anyway.

rape-horn found

Having found a rape-horn discarded seemingly without a second thought in an alley behind the Denny's out on route 44 – the one right next to that preschool where those kids are always playing – Henri Simpcoe-Jones IV, a professional saxophonist and amateur rape-horn enthusiast, mused aloud, saying, “The Vikings used to play a horn just like this one to signal to persons living in coastal communities, or in communities located near major rivers, that they were about to receive the raping of a lifetime.” Turning the device over in his hands with gingerly care and abject devotion, the East St. Louis native pointed out the fine inlay of authentic whalebone-ivory, shimmering mother of pearl, and illegally-farmed mahogany hardwoods. “Do you see these little holes right here?” he said, pointing to slight, gold-rimmed indentations in the nearly half-meter-long instrument. “Into these holes go the fingers; then the rape-horn naturally raises to the lips; whereupon, provided one has drawn a few good lung-fulls of this fine prairie air, it is sounded with a piercing and awesome note, thus signaling to all within earshot that rape is in the air.” Upon blowing into the rape-horn with all his might, Mr. Simpcoe-Jones scared half-to-death a woman a few blocks over who was in her garden watering her daffodils, and caused one closeted homosexual father of three all the way on the other side of town to measure his most significant erection in years.

on novus ordo seclorum

Every American dollar bill bears the slogan novus ordo seclorum, Latin for New Order for the Ages. The federal government of the United States (the fed) persecutes this new order in hot and cold military conflicts, and by wagingwar on those of its own citizens who would consume drugs other than those it itself licenses or sells.

Regardless of whether you are American or not, and if you are, whether or not you vote: if you handle US currency, and if you conduct business with it, you give your tacit consent to the aims printed on the American greenback – if you use dollar bills, you perpetuate and maintain this new order for the ages. (I have followed with interest efforts in economically struggling communities to switch to location-specific para-currencies, efforts which seem to nullify the paper money printed by the US Treasury.) In the not too distant past, the fed faced oppressive and mass-murdering dictators that it had to destroy, which required it to reorder its economy and to draft its mission statement anew. By consequence the world was also ordered anew, and the smaller players held their breath as clear battle lines emerged, and as nuclear missile silos sprouted in the Urals, and in the Midwest.

The outline of this new order began to change in the 1970s, when the fed abandoned the gold standard, causing the US Dollar to decline. Then, it changed the rules for financial regulation, allowing for rampant and destructive speculation, so that now the two hundred and fifty thousands of Americans who speculated best (the Point Oh Five) control the corporate structures that in turn control most aspects of society. But it is the duty of the federal government to shape a new order for the ages, and no other party – not the 0.05% nor the military-industrial complex – can manifest the destiny of this nation with the sort of extreme prejudice and blind dedication needed to finish the job.
